Despite entering their maiden continental campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct entry to the knockout stages, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Moment
This match provided a platform for several Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season were no match even for a largely rotated Palace outfit. The Londoners were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
